iOS Developer

Hi, I’m Kevin! As a detail-oriented Software Developer, I am a lifelong learner and adventurer at heart. I have an educational background in multimedia and software development, with a professional background in marketing, iOS dev, and paid advertising. I love collaborating in a team setting, while working on innovative projects that will improve people’s lives and/or help the environment.

Simple CBT

Simple CBT

Simple CBT is a minimalist Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) app. It allows you to input your thoughts, similar to a journal, and use a proven Cognitive Behavioral Therapy technique to help you break out of poor thinking patterns. I worked with an illustrator to develop the custom icons for the different cognitive distortions, badges, and everything else was built by myself.

This app is currently built in Xcode using Swift, File Manager, UIKit, Interface Builder/Programmatic UI, Git, GitHub, and Sketch.

Drizzle

Drizzle

Drizzle is a weather app I created as an anniversary gift for my wife. It provides the current, hourly, and daily weather for your current location as well as locations you select manually. I worked with illustrators to have custom graphics created from the different adventures we have experienced, as well as custom weather icons, and an app logo.

This was a challenge for me because it was the first time I was working with today extensions, different time zones, collection views, page view controllers, custom animations (the arrow in the cloud rotates as it fetches the weather), and custom protocols/delegates.

This app is built in Xcode using Swift, File Manager, UIKit, Core Location, Notification Center, Today Extensions, RESTful APIs, JSON Parsing, Git, Github, and Sketch.

Anti Snooze

Anti Snooze

Anti Snooze is a published iOS alarm clock app where there is no snooze button—instead, you must complete one of five mini-games to stop the alarm from sounding. Upon completing a mini-game, you are prompted with the local weather forecast for the day, provided by the DarkSky API.

This is the first app I developed from the ground up. It was a solo project designed and built by myself, with minor help from my DevMountain mentors.

This app is built in Xcode using Swift, Core Data, UIKit, Interface Builder, Core Location, Local Notifications, AVKit, AVFoundation, Media Player, RESTful APIs, JSON Parsing, MVC, Git, Github, and Sketch.

Zo App

Zo App

Zo is a published iOS social media app for providing and receiving encouragement from others. It allows you to connect with other users and work together to inspire each other daily. You can make someone’s day a little bit better with a kind word, or a funny picture. Reflect on the daily prompt with an open mind and unlock a new positive perspective on life.

This was a collaboration with two other iOS Developers, one UI/UX Designer, three QA Engineers, and a Project Manager. We utilized one-week sprints to complete the app in a short four-week period.

This app is built in Xcode using Swift, CloudKit, UIKit, MVC, RESTful APIs, JSON Parsing, Git, Github, Jira, and Sketch.
